Bari Sardo

With its 4000 inhabitants is located in the center Barisardo Oriental Sarda, four kilometers from the sea in a strategic position in the past responded to the need to defend against vandalism.  That in the seventeenth century a decree of the King of Spain, Philip II ordered the construction of a tower that only now has undergone restoration. Known as Bari until the constitution of the Kingdom of Italy, traditional agricultural and craft Barisardo has recently expressed a new tourism by building hotels and campsites close to white sandy beaches.  Its coastline stretches for ten miles from the village of Cea Teccu until the area that is characterized by the headlands of basaltic rocks, the result of eruptions of an ancient volcano. 

Front, to the delight of fans of diving, underwater views.  Not just the beach though: the hinterland with nature, colors and aromas typical of the Mediterranean certainly not disappoint the lovers of trekking and hiking. 

A Barisardo resists the artisan tradition as demonstrated by crafted with filigree jewelry, masks with their abstract forms and wild, and customs. Anche la cucina ha mantenuto i suoi aspetti tradizionali: culurgionis, focaccia coccoi con zucca e 'casu ageru' sono i piatti forti; ed è possibile gustare anche ottimi vini rossi. The cuisine has maintained its traditional elements: culurgionis, coccoi cake with pumpkin and 'casu ageru' are the main dishes, and you can also enjoy excellent red wines.
Due sagre importanti: a fine giugno, la 'Sagra de su Nenniri' (nettare) prevede una processione che arriva sino al mare; a settembre invece si celebra la Festa Patronale della Beata Vergine di Monserrato. Two important events: the end of June, the 'Festival de su Nenniri' (nectar) provides a procession coming down to the sea, but in September we celebrate the feast of the Blessed Virgin of Montserrat.
